How to create a profile for kids

Learn how to create Netflix profiles for kids and add maturity ratings to them.

To manage the types of TV shows, movies, and games that people on your Netflix account can watch or play, you can create individual profiles with customized maturity ratings. Profiles can be added on devices made after 2013.

Go to your | Manage Profiles page.

Select | Add Profile.

Name the profile. To use the Netflix Kids experience, selec Kids.

Kids profiles have a logo on the profile icon so they are easy to identify.

Select Continue. The new profile will show on the list of profiles on your account.

If you can’t create a profile from your device or when using a mobile browser, visit Netflix.com on a computer and follow the steps above.

You can also edit an existing secondary profile using these devices.

Android phone or tablet, iPhone, or iPad

Open the Netflix app.

In the lower right, tap My Netflix, tap your profile, then tap Manage Profiles.

On the profile you want to edit, tap the Edit icon.

Tap Viewing Restrictions.

Tap Maturity Rating.

Enter your Netflix account password.

Tap Kids Profile, then tap the Back icon.

Tap Restart App.

Web browser

Using a browser, go to the Manage Profiles page and choose the profile you want to edit.

Under Maturity Settings, choose Edit.

Enter your Netflix account password.

Select Display the Netflix Kids experience with titles just for kids.

Choose Save.

If you choose a maturity rating that's higher than the level allowed for the Netflix Kids experience, then the Kids experience won't be applied to that profile.
