I received the message: {Login method not set for 8-digit backup code/incorrect 8-digit backup code} — What should I do?

We ran into an issue while trying to log into your Google account — the backup code you submitted didn’t work. To help you complete your recharge smoothly, here are a few common things to check:

🔍 Make sure 2-Step Verification is turned on

Backup codes only work if 2-Step Verification is enabled on your Google account.

To check:

👉 Go to https://myaccount.google.com/security

Look for the 2-Step Verification section and confirm that it’s turned on.

If it’s not enabled, follow the instructions on the page to set it up, then resubmit your backup code.

🔍 Double-check the backup code you submitted

You can review the backup code you provided by following this path:

GamsGo Subscription Page > YouTube > Modify Info > Edit > Account Info > Click "Next" > Check the backup code

Please make sure:

  • The code is exactly 8 digits
  • There are no typos, extra spaces, or formatting issues
  • The code hasn’t already been used (each backup code can only be used once)

👉 If you notice a mistake, please correct it and resubmit the form.

If the code looks correct but still isn’t working, it may have expired — see below for how to refresh it.

🔁 Refresh your backup codes and get a new one

Backup codes can expire or become invalid after being used. Here’s how to generate a new set:

  1. Open your browser and go to:

  1. Sign in to your Google account
  2. Find the Backup Codes section
  3. Tap the refresh icon (a circular arrow) to generate a new set of backup codes
  4. Go back to the GamsGo subscription page and resubmit your account info along with a new backup code
