【ChatGPT】How to Obtain a QR Code

You can follow the steps below to generate a QR Code for your ChatGPT account.

The QR Code will generate a one-time code for use with Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). Enabling this setting significantly improves your account security.

  1. Log in to your ChatGPT account

Click here to log in to ChatGPT

  1. Go to the “Settings” page

Click the Profile icon at the bottom left, then click “Settings”

  1. Find Multi-factor authentication

Go to the Security tab and locate the Multi-factor authentication option

  1. Enable Multi-factor authentication

Click the Enable button. The system will ask you to enter your OpenAI account password for verification. After entering the correct password, you’ll be directed to the “MFA Setup” page.

(If MFA is already enabled, click here to view the tutorial)

  1. Save the QR Code screenshot

Once logged in, a QR Code will be displayed on the page. Take a screenshot of this QR Code and save it.

⚠️ Note: Do not refresh the page, otherwise the QR Code will reset.

  1. Upload to "GamsGo"

Upload the QR Code screenshot to "GamsGo". Make sure the image is clear.

  1. Link with your Authenticator app

Use an authenticator app on your phone (such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) to scan the QR Code.

A new OpenAI account entry will be created in the authenticator app, showing a six-digit one-time code.

If you haven’t downloaded an authenticator yet, please download it from your app store.

  1. Save the Recovery code

Enter the six-digit one-time code displayed in your authenticator app, then click Continue.

At this point, a Recovery code will be shown. Make sure to copy and securely store this recovery code.

  1. Completion

Once MFA is enabled, you’ll need to enter both your password and the six-digit one-time code generated by your authenticator app the next time you log in.

This applies to all OpenAI services, including the ChatGPT website and the API platform.

⚠️ Note: Do not disable Multi-factor authentication while waiting for recharge. During this period, logging into your account will still require entering the one-time code.
